Frequently Asked Questions
How can a video help my organization?
Whether you’re selling a product, a service or an image, video is a powerful tool for reaching your audience. With a combined visual and verbal message, your message is 70% more memorable on video than in print alone.
How long does it take to produce a video?
In general, the process takes about 8-12 weeks (but then again we have done videos in 2 weeks). Much depends on you and your timetable. Once we meet with you to assess your communications needs, L.S.P. can give you a budget and a timeframe.
What is the process for creating a video with L.S.P.?
There are four basic stages to completing your video:
- Pre-production and creative
- Scripting (if necessary)
- Production/videotaping
- Post-production/editing
The first step is to hold an informational meeting with you where we will learn everything we can about your organization, your unique selling proposition, your target audience, and how and where your audience will view this programming. Following this initial meeting, L.S.P. can give you a budget and a timeframe.
How much does a video cost?
Every video we produce is customized and unique, so production costs vary widely according to the style of the program and the time spent writing, shooting and editing the final product. We determine costs by discussing your needs in detail, and putting together a line-item budget for you.
What does this cost include?
Production costs include everything from initial research and concept development to scriptwriting, shooting, editing, graphics, music and narration. Not included is any high-volume replication of videotapes, CD-ROMs or DVDs, as this is based on the specific volume requested by you.
Is it possible to pay in "installments"?
Yes. We request 50% of the production cost at the time you agree to the video, and the balance upon delivery of the finished program.
How does L.S.P. differ from other production companies?
L.S.P. offers many benefits over other production companies.
What format of video do I need to produce in to get the best quality?
We generally recommend shooting on Betacam SP or DV CAM, although Mini DV is also acceptable.
In terms of delivery formats, L.S.P. can supply you with DVD, Beta, VHS, Streaming Video, or CD-ROM.
Can I put my video on the Internet?
Absolutely! However, there are still users with old computers and slow network connections, and care needs to be taken to ensure that streaming technology is not used inappropriately and without due regard for the target audience.
Can I see a sample of your work?
Yes. On our online streaming video page.
